Senior Legal Research Specialist – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Research Specialist to work remotely on a contractual basis. The role sits at the intersection of law, technology and AI, providing in‑depth research and analysis that directly supports product development, policy formation and risk mitigation for a leading tech organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive legal research using primary and secondary sources, including case law, statutes, regulations and legal treatises.
• Analyze complex legal issues and produce written summaries, memos and recommendations for cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and other legal professionals to embed legal insights into technical processes.
• Assess legal implications of emerging AI technologies, algorithms and data practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of developments in AI governance, data privacy, intellectual property and sector‑specific regulations.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience in legal research, preferably within technology, AI or a fast‑growth commercial environment.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret and synthesize complex legal and technical documents.
• Experience researching AI‑related legal issues such as algorithmic accountability, bias, transparency or automated decision‑making compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal research databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis and Bloomberg Law.
• Familiarity with AI tools or platforms used to assist legal analysis.
