Senior Manager – Finance & Operations (NGO)

About the role

This senior position leads finance and operations for a non‑profit organization, shaping financial strategy, ensuring compliance, and driving operational efficiency. The role reports to senior leadership and works closely with board members and donors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Develop and maintain non‑profit accounting systems, including donor‑advised funds and project accounting.
• Oversee investments, fund management and bank relationships.
• Strengthen financial controls, reporting frameworks, MIS and analytics.
• Provide regular financial insights on donations, disbursements, P&L and budget utilization.
• Manage accounting systems, external and internal audits, and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Ensure compliance with tax, legal and regulatory requirements.
• Handle board and committee processes, documentation and regulatory filings.
• Oversee end‑to‑end donation operations, charity onboarding and fund utilization tracking.
• Lead process improvements, automation and digital transformation initiatives.
• Supervise office administration, basic procurement and light HR operations.

Required profile

• Professional qualification in Finance or Accounting.
• 7+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably in the non‑profit sector.
• Strong background in financial planning, accounting, compliance and reporting.
• Experience managing cash flows, investments and financial systems.
• Familiarity with governance and company secretarial processes is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a high‑ownership environment.
• Comfort with technology, systems thinking and process optimisation.
• High integrity, attention to detail and execution focus.
