Senior Manager Platform Architect

About the role

Abacus Consulting is seeking a Senior Manager Platform Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of scalable software platforms that support high‑impact business solutions. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on technical leadership to ensure platforms meet current and future digital transformation goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the platform architecture roadmap, balancing short‑, medium‑ and long‑term business objectives.
• Lead cross‑functional teams in designing scalable solutions using load balancing, caching, data partitioning and horizontal scaling techniques.
• Implement robust security controls and conduct vulnerability assessments in partnership with cybersecurity teams.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, leveraging tools such as Vtune and PVS‑Studio.
• Enforce architectural standards, coding guidelines and governance frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, GDPR, HIPAA) across delivery squads.
• Collaborate with other chapter leads to align on overall software solutions strategy and drive engineering excellence.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in platform architecture and technical leadership.
• Strong functional analysis skills to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders, cybersecurity teams and other engineering chapters.
