Senior Mechanical / Process Engineer – Pyrolysis Systems

About the role

We are seeking an experienced senior engineer to lead the technical development of batch and continuous pyrolysis systems, taking designs from concept through to fabrication‑ready drawings and mentoring a growing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design pyrolysis reactors and auxiliary equipment, develop residence time, temperature profiles, mass and energy balances, and predict product yields.
• Create 3D models and complete fabrication drawing packages in SolidWorks with GD&T, weld callouts and BOMs.
• Perform FEA and CFD analyses (e.g., ANSYS) for thermal stress, heat transfer, pressure and gas flow in high‑temperature equipment.
• Select high‑temperature materials to ASME, ASTM, AWS codes and develop P&IDs, PFDs, data sheets and calculation reports.
• Define instrumentation, controls, safety interlocks, lead HAZOP and risk reviews, and support fabrication, commissioning and scale‑up.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering with 7+ years in pyrolysis, gasification or related thermochemical conversion.
• Proven experience taking at least one system from design to operation.
• Strong technical writing and ability to work with fabricators.
