Senior MLOps Engineer

About the role

ShipIn is building an AI‑powered visual fleet intelligence platform that turns vessel video streams into actionable safety insights. As a Senior MLOps Engineer you will own the end‑to‑end infrastructure that enables computer‑vision model development, from data collection on ships to deployment on edge devices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate a full‑stack MLOps platform covering data ingestion, annotation, dataset versioning, model training, and edge deployment.
• Develop and maintain backend services that power the AI‑agent layer across a global fleet.
• Collaborate with computer‑vision engineers, data ops, and DevOps teams to ship reliable detectors at increasing velocity.
• Continuously improve reliability, observability, and cost‑efficiency of the ML infrastructure as it scales.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in MLOps and AI.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in MLOps, data engineering, or AI engineering.
• Proven track record operating data, training, and deployment pipelines in production.
• Experience building backend services for LLM‑based or agentic AI flows.
• Strong systems thinking, root‑cause analysis, and communication skills.
