About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specialized in backend development to join a global platform on a contract basis. The role is hybrid, allowing you to work remotely while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to design, build, and maintain high‑performance services used by millions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to define requirements and deliver features.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise existing services for performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior backend engineer.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Ability to work independently and within a distributed team.

Required skills

• Python, Java, or Go programming.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipeline implementation and version control with Git.
