Senior Systems Engineer

About the role

Fueled is a digital strategy, design and engineering agency seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, deploy and operate scalable cloud infrastructure for enterprise‑scale client environments. The role is fully remote within South Asia and focuses on automation‑first, multi‑cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, deploy and manage highly available environments on AWS and Azure using Terraform, Ansible, Helm and CDK, and lead production Kubernetes workloads in EKS/AKS.
• Serve as the Linux subject‑matter expert, building and troubleshooting core services such as NGINX, MariaDB, and Redis, and driving performance and security from the kernel up.
• Operate and scale data and caching tiers, including MariaDB/Galera clusters, Redis, Memcached and Elasticsearch, applying performance tuning and IaC workflows.
• Engineer CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI and Azure DevOps, and replace repetitive tasks with robust Python and Bash automation.
• Lead observability, security and performance initiatives, evolve monitoring, participate in on‑call rotation and drive load‑testing for platform improvements.

Required profile

• Senior cloud infrastructure operator with multi‑cloud experience (AWS, Azure, preferably GCP or Oracle Cloud).
• Deep Linux and Infrastructure‑as‑Code expertise, having delivered Terraform, Ansible, Helm or CDK projects from greenfield to production.
• Proven experience running production Kubernetes (EKS/AKS) and managing data services such as NGINX, MariaDB/Galera, Redis/Memcached and Elasticsearch.
• Strong automation skills using Python and/or Bash and a track record of building scalable CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent documentation, communication and client‑facing abilities, and willingness to participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
