Shift Manager

About the role

The Shift Manager will lead manufacturing operations on the floor, ensuring shift targets for volume, quality, cost and safety are met while supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan making and packing operations to achieve agreed shift targets in volume, quality, output reliability, cost and safety.
• Receive chemical and packaging materials and ensure proper handling.
• Organise and control labour (operators, technicians and contract staff) in terms of numbers and skills.
• Monitor material consumption, yield and reduce waste levels.
• Minimise material variance by optimising usage of chemicals and packaging and maintaining accurate records.
• Supervise weekly and monthly stock counts and Fourth Shift transactions.
• Ensure workers wear appropriate personal protective equipment and comply with safety, health and environmental rules.
• Drive autonomous maintenance activities on the shop floor.
• Support implementation of best practices such as TPM, HACCP and audit recommendations.
• Identify skill gaps and organise training for workers.
• Continuously improve operations by identifying areas for process development.

Required profile

• BSc in Engineering.
• Fresh graduate or up to 1 year experience in operations/production within FMCG or manufacturing.
• Understanding of HSE principles.
• Technically sound with a passion for engineering.
• Growth mindset and strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to lead, coach and motivate teams.
