Shipping Operations Executive – Dry Bulk & Chartering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Dry Bulk Operations & Chartering Executive to manage end‑to‑end vessel operations, charter party compliance, voyage performance and commercial settlements for international dry bulk shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre‑fixture and post‑fixture vessel operations and voyage planning.
• Prepare voyage estimates, analyse costs and calculate profitability.
• Review charter party agreements, fixture recaps and vessel documentation.
• Coordinate with vessel masters, shipowners, charterers and international port agents.
• Handle cargo documentation, bills of lading and port clearance.
• Monitor vessel performance, bunker consumption and port operations.
• Calculate laytime, demurrage and despatch claims and audit port disbursement accounts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, Logistics or a related field (preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in dry bulk shipping, vessel operations or post‑fixture management.
• Strong knowledge of charter party agreements, GENCON, laytime calculations and demurrage claims.
• Familiarity with Karachi Port and Port Qasim operations.
• Excellent English communication and negotiation skills.
• Flexibility to work outside regular office hours when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel and voyage P&L analysis.
• Experience with maritime software such as Veson IMO, Dataloy or Danos.
