Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a leading data‑infrastructure team that builds scalable platforms for processing human‑generated datasets. The position is fully remote and focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that support both real‑time and batch data workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines that handle large‑scale human‑generated data.
• Develop and maintain backend services for real‑time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to keep the platform reliable.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud‑based data infrastructure.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, or similar distributed technologies.
• Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Containerisation and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
