Software Test Engineer – QA Automation

About the role

As a Software Test Engineer at PakWheels you will ensure the quality, reliability and performance of our digital products. You will work closely with product, engineering and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle, translating requirements into comprehensive test plans and automated test suites.

Key responsibilities

• Write, update and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile and API layers.
• Develop and execute functional, regression, integration, smoke, negative and edge‑case tests.
• Leverage AI‑assisted testing tools to generate scenarios, improve coverage and analyse failures.
• Define acceptance criteria and validate features against functional and non‑functional requirements, including AI‑generated outputs.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to investigate, document and resolve defects.
• Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and perform cross‑browser, cross‑device, performance and basic security testing.
• Monitor logs, analytics, crash reports and test results to identify quality risks.
• Maintain test cases, test data, execution reports and defect metrics.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuously improve QA processes.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience as a Software Test Engineer, QA Engineer or Automation Engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC, Agile and Scrum.
• Good knowledge of OOP, data structures and programming fundamentals.

• API testing: Postman, REST Assured, Python Requests.
• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.

• Basic SQL.
• Performance testing tools: JMeter, k6.
• Monitoring: Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics.
• Understanding of generative AI, prompt testing and AI response validation.
