Solar Design Engineer (PV & Energy Storage)

About the role

We are seeking a Solar Design Engineer to join Ghulam Faruque Group’s engineering team in Karachi. The role focuses on creating detailed photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system designs, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with all relevant standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed on‑grid and battery‑based PV system designs, selecting components and planning layouts.
• Create electrical schematics and technical specifications that meet industry codes.
• Conduct site surveys, shading analyses and feasibility studies.
• Perform energy yield calculations and load‑flow assessments.
• Use power system modeling and simulation tools to validate designs.
• Collaborate with project managers, sales and installation teams to align designs with project timelines.
• Assist procurement in component selection and support commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals and documentation for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Design engineer with experience in solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Proficient in electrical system design and power system modeling.
• Hands‑on experience with AutoCAD and simulation software.
• Familiar with local, national and international electrical codes.
