Structural Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our engineering team in Karachi. The role focuses on modelling, designing and detailing reinforced concrete and steel structures for a variety of projects while ensuring compliance with international codes and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Model and design RCC and steel structures using ETABS, SAP2000 and STAAD Pro following ACI, AISC, ASCE 7 and BCP 2021 codes.
• Perform foundation and slab design with SAFE and conduct manual calculation checks.
• Prepare and review structural drawings, reinforcement layouts and bar‑bending schedules in AutoCAD.
• Carry out site inspections, assess structural conditions and assist in developing retrofitting schemes.
• Draft technical reports and calculation packages while adhering to QA/QC and HSE standards.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional engineering teams to resolve design conflicts and interface issues.
• Verify on‑site construction work against approved structural drawings.
• Conduct seismic and wind load analysis and utilise BIM tools (Revit or Tekla) to create 3‑D models for coordination.

Required profile

• Diploma or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Drafting.
• 10–15 years of experience in structural drafting and design.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines under pressure and good communication skills.

Required skills

• ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SAFE.
• AutoCAD (mandatory); Revit or Tekla (advantage).
• RCC detailing and steel fabrication drawing interpretation.
• Seismic and wind load analysis.
• BIM modelling for structural coordination.
