Team Lead - SMD

About the role

BAT is evolving into a global multi‑category business and is seeking a Team Lead – SMD to drive shift operations and product quality at its Akora Khattak site in Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and control shift operations to meet daily and monthly production targets.
• Ensure scheduled downtime and seamless machine operation to support the Master Production Schedule and IWS philosophy.
• Manufacture high‑quality products by meeting Q2S and Q2C quality targets.
• Improve processes to reduce market complaints and maintain product integrity.
• Deploy workforce according to the agreed crewing pattern to achieve desired output.
• Achieve outstanding process reliability, minimizing planned and unplanned downtime.
• Lead issue resolution and root‑cause analysis for chronic production stops.
• Facilitate the Shift Transition Meeting in line with Site DDS DMS.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience managing operations through internships or employment (0.5‑1 year) is a plus.
• Strong technical knowledge of machine build, technical drawings and electrical systems.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop shop‑floor staff.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, unionized, digitally‑focused environment.
• Sound skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Power BI, Power Apps and Power Automate is advantageous.
