Team Lead – SMD

About the role

Pakistan Tobacco Company is seeking a Team Lead – SMD to oversee shift operations at its Akora Khattak facility, driving production performance and quality excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and control shift operations effectively to achieve daily and monthly production targets.
• Ensure scheduled downtime and seamless operation of machines to meet Master Production Schedule targets and support the IWS philosophy.
• Manufacture high‑quality products by meeting or exceeding quality targets in terms of Q2S and Q2C.
• Improve processes to reduce or eliminate market complaints and ensure product integrity.
• Deploy workforce according to the agreed crewing pattern to achieve desired output.
• Lead issue resolution to root cause on the floor of chronic stops and manage shift transition meetings.

Required profile

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Experience in managing operations through internships or employment (0.5 – 1 year) is a plus.
• Strong technical concepts in machine build, technical drawings, and electrical systems.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop others on the shop floor.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, unionized, and digitally‑focused environment.
• Sound skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate is advantageous.
