Team Leader - Fresh Food (Butchery) – Packages Store

About the role

The Team Leader is responsible for implementing quality, range and freshness standards of offered goods to attract customers and achieve sales targets, while ensuring exceptional customer service within the Fresh Food (Butchery) section.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor competitor activities, pricing, product range and promotions, and implement strategies to maintain a competitive advantage.
• Ensure compliance with commercial pricing policies, optimise departmental profitability and maximise asset utilisation.
• Oversee product assortment, negotiate supplier promotions and maintain a competitive offering aligned with customer expectations.
• Manage stock control, monitor stock value and availability, prevent out‑of‑stock situations and coordinate orders and deliveries.
• Implement initiatives to minimise waste and stock shrinkage while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Ensure proper product displays, planogram implementation, visibility of new products and accurate pricing.
• Monitor merchandisers’ attendance and performance, enforce operational standards and support excellent customer service.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, security and hygiene standards and address customer queries effectively.

Required profile

• 5+ years of relevant retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong organisational, coordination, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
