Team Leader - Retail Credit Initiation & Control

About the role

The Team Leader will manage the end‑to‑end onboarding process for retail credit products, overseeing personal loans and card applications from underwriting through disbursal. The role ensures service standards, SLA compliance, and high‑quality output while coordinating with on‑shore and off‑shore teams.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and control personal loans and cards application processing, ensuring compliance with product parameters and policy criteria.
• Monitor daily SLA/TAT, conduct spot checks, and maintain data‑entry quality to increase approval rates.
• Review daily rejects/referrals, drive training and continuous improvement to reduce rejections.
• Produce monthly exception tracking, MIS reports, and escalation updates for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with risk, business partners, and other unit managers to align capacity planning and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Graduate with at least 5 years of experience in retail product onboarding, including 2‑3 years in a similar leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of credit policies, cards data entry, and CPV processes.
• Excellent communication, managerial and interpersonal skills to supervise teams and interact with internal/external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle irregular cases.

Required skills

• Sound understanding of credit policies and retail product risk parameters.
• Proficiency in MIS management, reporting, and exception tracking.
• Experience with end‑to‑end onboarding workflows for loans and cards.
