ACCA Trainee – Remote Australian Taxation Role

About the role

We are looking for an ACCA Trainee to join our remote team supporting Australian SME clients. This entry‑level position offers full training in Australian taxation, international outsourcing standards, and a clear progression path from Trainee to Senior Associate.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare individual, partnership, trust and company income tax returns in line with ATO requirements.
• Perform bookkeeping, bank reconciliations and month‑end close for Australian SME clients.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS/IAS) and assist with GST reporting.
• Manage trial balances, group accounts and draft financial statements.
• Maintain client workpapers, review standards and address review points.
• Liaise with the Australian team on client queries and outstanding information.

Required profile

• ACCA fundamental level cleared (part‑qualified or finalist preferred).
• Strong accounting fundamentals: double‑entry, accruals, trial balance, financial statement preparation.
• At least 6 months of relevant experience in an accounting or audit practice; Australian client exposure is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Reliable internet connection, laptop and a quiet home workspace.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks.
