Accountant – Transportation & Logistics

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to manage transactional accounting, month‑end close, regulatory compliance and financial reporting for our rail and road logistics operations. The position is full‑time, on‑site in Lahore and supports both transportation and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries in line with company policies.
• Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts and balance‑sheet items on a monthly basis.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end adjusting entries, accruals and schedules to support the financial close.
• Assist with statutory tax filings, VAT/Sales tax reconciliations and provide documentation for external audits.
• Monitor expense trends, cost allocations and explain variances to management.
• Verify payroll data and post payroll‑related journal entries.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and calculate depreciation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of full‑cycle accounting experience (AP, AR, GL, reconciliations).
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan tax and VAT/Sales tax regulations and filing procedures.
• ACC​A part‑qualified or CA articles/qualified preferred.
• Experience in logistics, transportation or related industries is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks or SAP FI.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, reconciliations).
