Assistant Manager – Big Data Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cloudera Administrator to manage, configure, and support our enterprise‑grade Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem. The role ensures stability, performance, and security of Cloudera clusters while supporting data ingestion, processing, and analytics workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) or Cloudera Distribution of Hadoop (CDH) clusters in production and non‑production environments.
• Monitor cluster health, performance, and resource utilization to guarantee high availability.
• Administer Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, YARN, Hive, Impala, Spark, HBase, Kafka, Oozie, Zookeeper, Ranger, and Atlas.
• Perform upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Implement security controls using Kerberos, Ranger, and LDAP/Active Directory integration.
• Automate routine tasks with Python, Shell scripting, or Ansible.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, job failures, and other cluster‑related issues.
• Support backup and disaster‑recovery planning for Hadoop clusters.
• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and architects to optimise data pipelines.
• Generate reports on cluster usage, job performance, and capacity planning.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Cloudera/HDP/CDP administrator.
• Strong background in Linux system administration.
• Hands‑on experience with enterprise big‑data platforms and data‑governance tools.
