Civil Engineer – AI Model Evaluation Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a civil engineer who enjoys technical precision and problem‑solving to help improve AI language models on civil‑engineering topics. You will evaluate and refine AI‑generated content, ensuring it meets professional engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assess AI‑generated responses for technical accuracy, logical soundness, completeness, and clarity across civil‑engineering subjects.
• Challenge language models with realistic scenarios, calculations, design questions, and code‑informed reasoning tasks.
• Review and improve prompts, model outputs, explanations, and step‑by‑step engineering solutions.
• Provide structured feedback identifying factual errors, flawed assumptions, missing constraints, unsafe recommendations, or incomplete reasoning.
• Evaluate model performance on topics such as structural loads, soil behavior, slope stability, drainage design, pavement systems, reinforced concrete, steel design, and construction sequencing.
• Help define communication standards for technical civil‑engineering content, including how models explain assumptions, limitations, calculations, and professional judgment.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional civil‑engineering experience in infrastructure design, structural analysis, geotechnical, transportation, water resources, environmental engineering, or construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline (Master’s, PhD, PE licensure strongly preferred).
• Deep knowledge of civil‑engineering fundamentals such as statics, mechanics of materials, soil mechanics, hydraulics, material behavior, load paths, construction methods, and infrastructure systems.
• Previous experience with AI data training, annotation, or evaluating AI‑generated technical content is a strong plus.
