Director of Education

About the role

The Director of Education will lead the strategy, planning and delivery of the British Council's education portfolio across Pakistan. This senior position oversees student mobility, tertiary education partnerships, science collaborations and client‑funded programmes, ensuring they meet impact and income targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the country Education/Tertiary Education strategy in line with global programmes.
• Lead business development and income generation to meet country and global financial targets.
• Manage senior stakeholder relationships with government, clients, partners and research institutions.
• Provide market intelligence on the local education landscape and share insights internally and externally.
• Embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles across all activities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in higher education, tertiary education partnerships or related sectors.
• Proven track record in business development and income generation.
• Strong network with government bodies, universities and research organisations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with global teams and local partners.
