Education & Outreach Intern

About the role

Green Upshot, an award‑winning sustainability startup, is looking for an Education & Outreach Intern to support community engagement and educational programming in Lahore and surrounding neighborhoods. You will work closely with the outreach lead to design and deliver workshops that promote plastic‑free living and sustainable habits.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and delivering school and community workshops on plastic reduction, waste segregation, and sustainable consumer habits.
• Develop clear, audience‑appropriate educational materials and activity guides for children and students.
• Coordinate event logistics, manage volunteer support, and ensure smooth execution of outreach activities.
• Collect basic data and feedback, such as attendance numbers and summary comments.
• Support social‑media content capture and collaborate with the communications team on posts.
• Travel locally within Lahore to conduct outreach activities.

Required profile

• Strong verbal communication and public‑speaking abilities.
• Comfortable facilitating small workshops and school sessions.
• Basic knowledge of environmental issues, especially plastic pollution and waste reduction.
• Organizational skills for event planning, volunteer coordination, and logistics.
• Ability to create concise, audience‑tailored educational materials.
• Basic data‑collection and reporting skills.
• Interpersonal skills for outreach to schools, NGOs, and local businesses.
• Fluent in Urdu and competent in English for written materials and stakeholder interactions.
• Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to travel locally.
