Finance Officer

About the role

The Finance Officer will join Oxford Policy Management’s Finance team in Islamabad, supporting the organization’s financial operations and compliance. This permanent position involves managing day‑to‑day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate reporting, and facilitating timely payments and tax obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain OPM Pakistan bank accounts, record transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
• Verify and process invoices, bills and project‑related expenses.
• Handle monthly payroll, travel reimbursements and other staff payments.
• Calculate, deduct and remit applicable taxes (Income Tax, GST) and issue tax certificates.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Track payments, monitor expenses against budgets and flag unbudgeted costs.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Support tax return submissions, respond to authority notices and provide data for audits.
• Maintain organized electronic and hard‑copy financial records.
• Update Microsoft Dynamics with supplier and employee setups, invoices and payroll journals.
• Coordinate expense coding with project teams and liaise with banks on payment issues.
• Review the Fixed Asset Register and record additions or deletions.
• Ensure confidentiality of financial data and meet all deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounts and Finance.
• Understanding of Federal and Provincial tax laws.
• Good communication and reporting abilities.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
