Head of Compliance & MLRO (Pakistan)

About the role

OKX is seeking an experienced compliance professional to lead its compliance function in Pakistan as Head of Compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). The role will build the compliance programme from scratch and embed a strong compliance culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities and ensure the company meets all governance and fit‑and‑proper requirements for approved persons.
• Design, implement and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework aligned with local laws, FATF recommendations and international best practice for virtual asset service providers.
• Develop, review and update policies and procedures covering AML/CFT, KYC, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, data protection, cybersecurity compliance and client asset safeguarding.
• Oversee the compliance monitoring programme, conduct periodic testing, gap analysis and report findings to senior management and the Board.
• Prepare regular compliance reports for the Board and relevant committees, highlighting regulatory changes, breaches and remediation actions.
• Integrate compliance considerations into new product design and operations, providing solution‑focused advice to product teams.

Required profile

• Significant experience in compliance, AML/CFT and regulatory affairs within the virtual assets or financial services sector.
• Strong knowledge of FATF standards, local Pakistani regulations and international best practices for VASPs.
• Proven ability to interact with regulators and senior management, and to lead a compliance function.
• Commercial awareness and ability to balance regulatory requirements with business objectives.
