Head of Inventory Finance & Purchasing

About the role

As the Head of Inventory Finance & Purchasing, you will lead the financial planning and procurement strategy for inventory across multiple product categories, ensuring alignment with company objectives and driving cost efficiencies.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end purchasing for nicotine, non‑nicotine, accessories, apparel, POS materials and future product lines.
• Source, evaluate and negotiate with global vendors on pricing, terms, MOQs and lead times.
• Create and manage purchase orders, track confirmations and resolve delays, discrepancies or quality issues.
• Coordinate with international vendors, manufacturers, freight forwarders and warehouse partners to monitor production, shipping and customs.
• Partner with FP&A to translate SKU‑level forecasts into purchase plans and replenishment schedules.
• Maintain inventory models to prevent stockouts and overstock, monitor safety stock and inbound inventory.
• Produce weekly and monthly inventory reports, flag shrinkage, expiry or receiving errors.
• Oversee the full inventory lifecycle – receiving, costing, landed‑cost allocation, valuation and month‑end close in QBO and Shopify‑integrated systems.
• Lead ERP/WMS implementation, configure workflows, ensure clean master data and develop SOPs for purchasing and cycle counting.
• Own cycle‑count schedules, conduct physical counts and resolve variances.

Required profile

• Strong negotiation skills and proven experience managing global vendor relationships.
• Deep expertise in finance, inventory costing and procurement processes.
• Ability to collaborate with FP&A, logistics and warehouse teams to align forecasts and supply continuity.
• Leadership capability to drive cross‑functional initiatives and continuous improvement.
