Laboratory Technician – TB Program

About the role

Behbud Association is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support its Tuberculosis (TB) Program in Karachi. The role involves processing clinical specimens and performing microscopy to detect TB, ensuring accurate results that contribute to public health efforts. The technician will work independently while adhering to safety and program protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Perform sputum smear microscopy for TB detection.
• Prepare and process biological specimens, including smear slide preparation.
• Execute a range of laboratory tests following standard operating procedures.
• Maintain laboratory logs and compile monthly reports.
• Follow TB Control Program protocols and safety standards.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of hands‑on experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Certification as a Lab Technician in Microbiology.
• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
