Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work remotely on the creation of detailed CAD models and manufacturing drawings for custom mechanical components. The position is contract‑based and offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while collaborating with global manufacturing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D production drawings using FreeCAD.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and performance.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to resolve design issues and improve processes.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including BOMs and engineering change orders.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with GD&T and ISO standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with sheet metal design, machining, and assembly processes.

Required skills

• FreeCAD for parametric modeling and drafting.
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
