Production Engineer

About the role

Interwood is seeking a result‑oriented Production Engineer / Section In‑charge to own the end‑to‑end operations of an assigned production section. You will drive planning, execution, quality, cost control and continuous improvement while leading the floor team to meet delivery and performance targets.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of monthly, weekly and daily production planning and ensure targets are met on time and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Design and Supply Chain to maintain smooth production flow and optimal resource utilization.
• Supervise day‑to‑day shop‑floor activities, manage labour deployment, shift planning, attendance, productivity and floor discipline.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, SOPs and safety standards; work with Quality to reduce rejections, reworks and customer complaints.
• Lead cost‑optimization initiatives through better manpower utilization, material control, waste reduction and overtime management.
• Identify process improvement opportunities, drive corrective actions and strengthen production systems.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background with practical manufacturing experience.
• Experience in high‑volume, labour‑intensive FMCG or similar manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead production teams, manage shifts and enforce floor discipline.
• Demonstrated focus on quality compliance, rework reduction and cost optimisation.
