Production Lead

About the role

The Production Lead is responsible for managing multiple production lines and associated utilities within a manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role ensures that production meets quality, safety, environmental and cost standards while supporting planning, maintenance and operational activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Production Manager in planning, maintenance and operational activities across assigned lines.
• Forecast raw material needs, overheads and KPIs for the annual business plan.
• Design and implement plant modifications and ensure effective CAPEX utilization.
• Enter production and component data in SAP (Z‑Shift, SAP PM, SAP PP, SAP BW) and follow SAP maintenance best practices.
• Monitor raw material yields, diesel, natural gas, consumables, oils and lubricants against targets.
• Track and report production, quality, safety and environmental KPIs.
• Prepare regular production reports and train line staff on GMP requirements.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs via SAP PM and maintain adequate spare‑part inventory.
• Provide guidance to shift engineers, foremen and operators, and drive continuous improvement projects to reduce downtime.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising production engineers, utility engineers and foremen.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing standards, GMP and quality systems.
• Ability to plan resources, manage CAPEX and control production costs.
• Experience with KPI monitoring and reporting in an industrial setting.
