Senior Accounting & Tax Manager

About the role

The General Manager – Accounting & Tax will lead the hospital’s financial accounting, taxation, statutory compliance and financial control functions. You will ensure accurate reporting, drive tax optimisation and support strategic decision‑making in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts, and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with applicable standards.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing, balance‑sheet schedules, reconciliations, accruals and provisioning processes.
• Lead tax compliance for income tax, sales tax, withholding tax and payroll taxes, ensuring timely filing of returns and handling assessments, audits and appeals.
• Coordinate with tax consultants, external auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Direct the Accounts Payable function, monitor payment cycles, vendor aging and working‑capital efficiency while enforcing approval matrices and procurement policies.
• Support ERP implementation and finance‑automation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency and internal controls.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA) with extensive experience in accounting and taxation, preferably within the healthcare sector.
• Proven leadership ability to manage finance teams and drive process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of local tax laws, SECP regulations and international accounting standards.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP/finance automation systems.
