Senior Software Engineer - Systems Integration

About the role

Arbisoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of integration plugins for Windows‑based CAD and engineering tools such as SolidWorks and CATIA. You will own the full lifecycle of each integration, work directly with the client, and ensure solutions remain robust as host applications evolve.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document integration architectures across multiple desktop engineering tools.
• Develop, test, and maintain plugin bridges that run inside host applications.
• Implement local communication channels (WebSockets, gRPC, HTTP, named pipes) for real‑time data exchange.
• Handle JSON message passing and execute code within the host environment.
• Update and troubleshoot existing integrations when vendor releases break changes.
• Define interaction patterns for AI agents working with CAD tools.
• Present technical solutions to the client, answer live questions, and defend architectural choices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong system‑architecture expertise.
• Proven ability to analyze complex integration problems and choose optimal solutions.
• Comfortable communicating technical decisions to client stakeholders.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, European‑style environments that demand rigorous justification of choices.

Required skills

• Python (primary language)
• JavaScript (plus)
• WebSockets, gRPC, HTTP, named pipes (IPC mechanisms)
• Windows debugging and runtime issue resolution
• Plugin/extension development for desktop applications (CAD, IDEs)
• Familiarity with CAD tool APIs (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)
• AI agent orchestration or LLM tool‑use (nice to have)
