Senior System Administrator – IT Operations

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior System Administrator to join our IT Operations team in Lahore. The role will be responsible for managing both on‑premises and cloud server environments, ensuring high availability and performance of critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain physical servers, virtual machines and employee VMs on Proxmox VE, VMware/ESXi, KVM and LXC.
• Monitor and troubleshoot virtualization networking, including bridges and interfaces.
• Manage backups using Proxmox Backup, NAS solutions and email account archives.
• Install, configure and support Linux distributions and Windows Server services (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory).
• Maintain web and application services such as Apache, Nginx (reverse proxy), MySQL/PostgreSQL, PHP, LDAP, Nagios, Samba, FTP and SSL certificates.
• Monitor infrastructure health with LibreNMS and provide remote access via Apache‑Guacamole.
• Administer developer tools including GitLab and manage Google Workspace and Slack accounts.
• Handle DNS records on Namecheap and AWS Route 53, perform system hardening, patch management and compliance enforcement.
• Develop automation scripts in Bash and Python and coordinate with international clients for requirements and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Strong background in Linux system administration and Windows Server management.
• Hands‑on experience with Proxmox VE, VMware/ESXi, KVM, LXC and container technologies.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, firewalls, DHCP, routing).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and hosting services like GoDaddy and Namecheap.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and clear communication skills for client interaction and documentation.
