Senior Windows Engineer

About the role

The Senior Windows Engineer will design, standardize and engineer enterprise‑wide Windows platform solutions for large‑scale, mission‑critical environments. The role focuses on building reusable, automated Windows capabilities for system administration and infrastructure teams, rather than day‑to‑day BAU tasks. It spans on‑premises, hybrid, cloud, virtualization and container environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, standardize and develop enterprise‑wide Windows platform solutions for large‑scale environments.
• Create and maintain automated Windows build solutions, including Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Develop and manage bare‑metal, virtual and container Golden Images with specific use‑case profiles.
• Engineer Windows OS builds across VMware and Red Hat OpenShift, including Windows virtual hosts and containers.
• Define and enforce Windows Server standards, security frameworks, and OS hardening in collaboration with security teams.
• Perform OS performance tuning (kernel, TCP/network, CPU, memory, I/O) and develop monitoring, configuration management, and automated rollback capabilities.
• Integrate Windows monitoring and logging with enterprise‑wide monitoring platforms and SIEM technologies.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and other tools to support engineering and BAU teams.
• Act as Level 3 escalation point for critical Windows incidents and lead root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Windows Server (2008 and later) in large, mission‑critical environments.
• Strong knowledge of SCCM, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy Objects and integration with Entra ID.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware, Red Hat OpenShift, and Windows container technologies.
• Proven ability to design, automate and standardize OS deployment, configuration and monitoring.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex CPU, memory, I/O, networking and kernel performance issues.
