Specialist Transport Planning – Carrier, Enterprise & IP

About the role

The Specialist Transport Planning – Carrier, Enterprise & IP is responsible for transport planning activities across the IP network, including MPBN, Enterprise and Internet Gateway segments. The role involves high‑level and low‑level design, vendor coordination, documentation, financial oversight and project management within a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and implement components of the IP/MPLS network, covering MPLS, BGP, OSPF, ISIS, layer‑2 switching, QoS and security.
• Validate technical solutions proposed by vendors and manage RFP preparation and evaluation.
• Create and maintain High‑Level and Low‑Level Designs, implementation and migration plans, and related documentation.
• Configure routers, switches, firewalls, site‑to‑site and SSL VPNs, and ensure network security compliance.
• Integrate service domains (IN, VAS, MFS, RAN, CS Core, PS Core) across the MPLS domain.
• Prepare and manage CAPEX/OPEX budgets, forecast financial needs for upcoming projects.
• Produce SOPs, MOPs and other operational documents to support team activities.
• Monitor network performance, conduct event analysis and generate reports using the Network Management & Monitoring System.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of relevant experience.
• BSc in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Self‑motivated, able to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.
• Strong presentation, incident reporting and project management abilities.
• Effective communication skills.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of IP‑MPLS (service provider and enterprise) networks.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper and Huawei equipment.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, IPv6 and automation concepts.
• Proficiency with BGP (iBGP & eBGP), MPLS, SR, RSVP, LDP, OSPF, ISIS.
• Experience with layer‑2 switching, QoS, network security, firewalls, site‑to‑site and SSL VPNs.
