System Administrator (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a remote System Administrator to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The role focuses on managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, and supporting day‑to‑day technical operations for mission‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer cloud‑based servers, networks, and storage across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Monitor system performance, proactively resolve incidents, and minimize downtime.
• Implement security best practices, including access controls, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and configuration‑management tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot issues and deploy updates.

Required profile

• Proven experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration and command‑line operations.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is preferred.
• Experience with monitoring solutions like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus.
