Team Lead Global Accounting & Inventory Control

About the role

The Team Lead – Global Accounting & Inventory Control will head a team of accounting professionals supporting a worldwide retail business. The role combines financial close, inventory accounting, internal controls and continuous improvement to ensure accurate reporting under U.S. GAAP and SOX.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of accounting professionals, set performance goals and allocate workload.
• Oversee inventory operations for stores, distribution centers, e‑commerce and wholesale, including reconciliations, cycle counts and variance investigations.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations and inventory reserve analysis.
• Maintain SOX compliance, execute key financial controls and support internal and external audits.
• Identify and implement process‑automation opportunities, develop SOPs and drive Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects.
• Partner with Finance, Supply Chain, Merchandising, IT and external auditors; support SAP enhancements and system testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA or equivalent certification.
• 10+ years of accounting and inventory experience.
• 5+ years of supervisory or team‑lead experience.
• Experience supporting U.S. retail or consumer‑products companies preferred.
