Head of Enterprise Risk Management

About the role

The Head of Enterprise Risk Management will lead a specialised team of four to six professionals at MCB, overseeing the identification, analysis and mitigation of risks across the bank. The role is responsible for building and maintaining comprehensive risk frameworks that cover credit, market, operational, asset‑liability and liquidity risks.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of risk management professionals to achieve departmental objectives.
• Design, implement and maintain enterprise‑wide risk management frameworks.
• Develop quantitative risk models, including Value at Risk (VaR) and macro‑stress testing.
• Use Python and R to create and refine econometric and statistical models for risk assessment.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments with specialised software and statistical tools.
• Oversee the development and validation of credit risk models and internal rating systems.
• Ensure policies align with regulatory requirements and the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
• Collaborate with senior management to communicate findings and align risk appetite with business strategy.
• Monitor industry standards and certifications such as FRM, PRM, CRM, and CFA.
• Provide training and expert advice on risk methodologies and technical tools.

Required profile

• Minimum of seven years of experience in enterprise risk management.
• Strong quantitative background with advanced statistical and econometric skills.
• Proven ability to lead a risk‑focused team.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and ICAAP.
• Relevant certifications (FRM, PRM, CRM, CFA) are preferred.
