Junior Civil Engineer - Inspection

About the role

Bureau Veritas is hiring a Junior Civil Engineer in Lahore, reporting to the Operations Manager / Team Leader. The role covers quality inspection of civil works, buildings, roads, equipment, products and installations to check conformity with specifications, standards, regulations and drawings. It suits someone with a Civil Engineering degree and 0-3 years of experience in construction.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect civil works, products and installations against specifications, drawings and ITPs, sometimes independently on well-identified assets
• Carry out site tests, validate and witness them, and interpret results
• Follow pre-defined inspection procedures and quality plans, and identify non-conformities (NCRs)
• Prepare inspection reports and deliverables within the agreed timeframe
• Maintain regular contact with clients, understand their needs and promote the service portfolio
• Complete business information such as invoicing and timesheets
• Follow HSE rules: stop work if conditions are unsafe, use PPE, report hazards and incidents, and comply with local laws and policies

Required profile

• Civil Engineering degree
• 0-3 years of experience in the construction industry
• Basic knowledge of inspection techniques and ability to spot non-conformities under supervision
• Awareness of international testing and design standards and codes

Required skills

• Ability to read layout, structural and architectural drawings and method statements
• Understanding of inspection procedures and contractual requirements
• Ability to interpret inspection results and inspection reports
