Production Engineer – Section Incharge

About the role

Interwood is seeking a result‑oriented Production Engineer to lead an assigned production section. The role involves end‑to‑end management of planning, execution, quality, and cost optimisation while ensuring on‑time delivery and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly, weekly and daily production planning for the section and monitor plan vs. actual output.
• Coordinate with PPC, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Design and Supply Chain to maintain smooth production flow.
• Supervise day‑to‑day shop‑floor operations, including labour deployment, shift planning, attendance, productivity and floor discipline.
• Ensure production adheres to approved drawings, specifications, SOPs and safety standards.
• Work with the Quality team to reduce rejections, reworks and customer complaints through root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive cost‑optimisation initiatives such as manpower utilisation, material control, waste reduction and overtime management.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities and strengthen production systems.

Required profile

• Strong engineering background with hands‑on manufacturing experience.
• Proven ability to lead production teams on the shop floor.
• Experience in FMCG or high‑volume, labour‑intensive manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in shift management, quality compliance and process efficiency.
