Recovery Officer – Collections Specialist

About the role

The Recovery Officer will manage charged‑off accounts, aiming to maximise recoveries while supporting customers to settle overdue liabilities. The role requires a balanced approach of firm collection practices and respectful customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse repayment issues and persuade customers to prioritise repayment to meet recovery targets.
• Follow up all leads, establish contact, and engage customers to reach amicable settlement agreements.
• Review accounts, propose settlements according to approved processes, and obtain necessary approvals.
• Conduct all communications using approved formats, recorded lines, and official email IDs, and log interactions in the collection system.
• Monitor settlement agreements, ensure compliance, and close accounts once settled, releasing any legal cases.
• Utilise MIS reports to improve recovery performance and maintain high‑quality service for internal and external stakeholders.
• Address customer queries and complaints promptly, escalating complex issues to the Team Leader.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in banking or a similar customer‑engagement, target‑driven environment.
• Good knowledge of business products, relevant legal regulations, and strong negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a customer‑focused attitude.
