Senior Product Owner – Islamic Banking (Digital Products)

About the role

The Senior Product Owner will partner with the Head of Islamic Banking to expand the Islamic product suite and deliver fully digital journeys for Islamic customers across Mashreq Bank Pakistan’s digital channels. This role drives the end‑to‑end launch, management and regulatory compliance of Islamic banking products.

Key responsibilities

• Define, launch and manage Islamic banking products, ensuring they meet client needs and remain competitive.
• Coordinate with Shariah, Legal and Compliance teams to secure all necessary approvals.
• Oversee Modaraba pool creation, system setup, weightage allocation and profit rate declaration in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with technology squads, operations and other units to roll out digital front‑end journeys and back‑end infrastructure.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for tech upgrades, new launches and provide product training.
• Maintain Shariah governance, regulatory checks and control documentation for existing and new features.
• Develop product documentation, SOPs and Islamic product agreements.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of hands‑on product, operations and controls experience in a bank with Islamic offerings.
• Strong knowledge of core banking and associated systems, and experience working with digital squads.
• Understanding of Shariah governance and proven liaison with compliance functions.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Business degree or equivalent professional qualification.
