Senior Accountant

About the role

ibex, on behalf of a global client, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a small, high‑performing finance team. The role is responsible for end‑to‑end finance operations, including month‑end close, reporting, and transactional accounting (AR, AP, payroll) while working in the EST time zone.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close calendar and coordinate with Group finance.
• Prepare and post journals (accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation) and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and reconcile CRM with ERP systems.
• Investigate variances and meet close deadlines.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register and drive continuous improvement of close processes.
• Support year‑end audit and Group reporting requirements.
• Manage the debtor ledger, aged receivables, collections, and dispute resolution.
• Execute the full AP cycle: purchase orders, supplier invoices, payment runs, and vendor master data.
• Prepare and review weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with superannuation, PAYG, and leave accruals.
• Liaise with HR on employee onboarding, terminations, and changes.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience.
• At least 3 years of post‑qualified experience (CA/CPA).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• NetSuite (desirable).
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
