Team Lead Mechanical

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Team Lead to oversee the maintenance, repair and optimisation of critical production equipment. The role combines hands‑on troubleshooting with leadership of workshop activities to ensure high reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing lines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of conveyors, ovens, blowers and packing machines.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for mechanical failures.
• Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programmes, including vibration analysis, thermography and lubrication management.
• Direct day‑to‑day workshop operations such as fabrication, precision milling, lathe machining and welding.
• Supervise machining and fabrication tasks, designing and manufacturing custom components as required.
• Plan and execute modifications to machinery for capacity upgrades, performance improvement and energy efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards through risk assessments and safety protocols.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, maintenance logs and operational manuals.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems into workflow and lead cross‑functional troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Extensive hands‑on experience maintaining and optimizing industrial machinery.
• Strong practical knowledge of workshop operations, including milling machines, lathes and welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick).
• Advanced understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic and machine control systems.
• Proven experience with predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics and 3D models.
