Assistant Manager – Middleware & Platforms (API Connect)

About the role

The Assistant Manager will lead the installation, configuration, deployment and ongoing administration of IBM API Connect across cloud and on‑premise environments. You will ensure the health, performance and security of the API platform while supporting critical production issues.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, deploy and monitor IBM API Connect on cloud and on‑prem VMs.
• Analyse logs, lead incident resolution calls and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Configure backup and restoration processes for API Connect subsystems and data.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines for building and deploying APIs.
• Manage API lifecycle, consumer access, security roles and the Developer Portal (including Drupal theme changes).
• Integrate third‑party tools such as Elastic and Splunk for analytics, monitoring and alerting.
• Apply security configurations (TLS profiles, OAuth2) and product patches/upgrades.
• Collaborate with IBM Technical Support and Sales to resolve issues.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of experience in middleware, API management and system administration.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work across the full software development lifecycle.
