About the role
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is seeking an Associate Human Resources Officer to support its Human Resources Section in Islamabad. The role will assist in recruitment, placement, classification and provide HR advice to managers and staff across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Provide advice and support on HR matters to managers and staff.
- Coordinate with client offices to identify vacancies and prepare vacancy announcements.
- Review applications, shortlist candidates and support selection recommendations.
- Prepare and present cases to central review bodies and committees.
- Maintain the HR filing system and monitor staff placement needs.
- Assist in planning, organizing and administering recruitment tests for professional and general service staff.
- Prepare classification requests and guide programme managers on classification policies.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Talent Acquisition, Outreach and Management Unit.
Required profile
- Knowledge of UN human resources policies, practices and procedures.
- Ability to analyse HR issues, formulate recommendations and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professionalism and ability to work under pressure.
