Bookkeeper – Onsite in Islamabad (PKR Salary)

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Bookkeeper to join our finance team in Islamabad. The role involves processing high volumes of invoices, managing VAT compliance for UK and Irish regulations, and ensuring accurate daily financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices efficiently while applying correct VAT treatment in line with UK HMRC and Irish Revenue rules.
• Handle domestic, cross‑border (B2B/B2C) and reverse charge VAT transactions.
• Perform daily bank processing, allocate payments and receipts, and maintain up‑to‑date ledger entries.
• Conduct supplier reconciliations and resolve invoice, credit note, and payment discrepancies.
• Identify and correct misallocations across bank lines, nominal ledgers and VAT returns.
• Execute first‑pass reviews to minimise rework and prevent historical VAT errors.
• Support month‑end bookkeeping activities and ensure compliance with internal and statutory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, B.Com or related field.
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable or bank reconciliation.
• Strong knowledge of UK and Irish VAT regulations, including cross‑border and reverse charge mechanisms.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to process large volumes of financial data accurately.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on correcting complex financial misallocations.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Xero, QuickBooks or Odoo.
• Knowledge of VAT compliance for UK and Ireland.
• Bank reconciliation and ledger management.
