Category Analyst – Procurement (Transport)

About the role

The Category Analyst – Procurement (Transport) is responsible for the end‑to‑end procurement process within the transport domain, covering MW, Optical, IP and Fiber. Reporting to the Category Procurement Manager – Transport, the role is an individual contributor without people‑management duties.

Key responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of sourcing calendars aligned with budgets and business needs.
• Assist in procurement planning and coordinate timelines for RFQ/RFP processes.
• Participate in vendor assessments, supplier evaluation and scoring.
• Manage sourcing projects through the procurement lifecycle, including RFQ/RFP documentation and bid collection.
• Prepare commercial evaluations, basic TCO analysis and techno‑commercial comparisons.
• Coordinate BOQ alignments and ensure compliance with approved frame agreements.
• Assist in bulk purchase agreements and catalogue‑based PO issuance.
• Support price verification and commercial negotiations under senior guidance.
• Produce monthly dashboards, KPI reports and spend/savings analysis using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Develop analytical, reporting and presentation skills to aid procurement decisions.
• Prepare negotiation summaries and strategies for sourcing activities.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Conduct market research and gather supplier intelligence.
• Maintain accuracy in procurement documentation and data management.

Required skills

• Oracle ERP (ESS/Fusion) purchasing module – ability to create and initiate tenders/RFx and conduct e‑auctions.
• SAP Ariba Contract Management Module – hands‑on experience creating contract request workspaces and managing contract negotiations.
• Microsoft 365 tools: Excel, PowerPoint, ThinkCell, Power BI.
• Advanced analytical and data‑modeling capabilities.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including Agentic AI for autonomous task support.
