Class Assistant - Kumon Study Centre

About the role

Kumon, a Japan-based afterschool math and English reading programme, is hiring a Class Assistant for its Kumon Gulberg Study Centre in Lahore. The assistant supports the instructor in delivering the Kumon Math and English learning programmes and helps develop children's ability through the Kumon method. The stated schedule is Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm, though flexibility outside these hours may be required.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the instructor in delivering the Kumon Method of Learning, in the centre and online if required, for all students.
• Observe and guide early learners and new students during class, help set up and clear the classroom, mark and record students' work and complete reports.
• Keep students working effectively, supervise them and help maintain the flow of the class.
• Maintain good relationships with parents and students, such as passing messages and helping prepare students' work.
• Update the student attendance register and attend training and meetings as requested by the instructor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a reputable institution.
• Experience in an educational setting is desirable but not necessary.
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
• Ability to explain ideas and concepts simply and clearly to children.
• Good communication skills; responsible, reliable, punctual, able to multi-task and follow directions.
• Ability to observe, understand and communicate with children and parents.
