IT Operations Engineer – L1 Support

About the role

As an IT Operations Engineer at Teknosys, you will ensure the stability, availability, and performance of business‑critical systems and applications that power Pakistan’s digital future. The role is proactive, customer‑focused, and requires 24/7 shift coverage to meet strict SLA commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide L1/L2 technical support for enterprise systems and customer‑facing applications.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application, hardware, and infrastructure issues.
• Monitor production environments, respond to alerts, and perform root‑cause analysis (RCA).
• Escalate critical incidents while maintaining end‑to‑end ownership.
• Utilize monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Datadog to track system health.
• Support deployments, releases, and operational maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with development, networking, and system administration teams to resolve cross‑functional problems.
• Recommend improvements to enhance stability, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to automation and operational‑excellence initiatives.
• Maintain and update knowledge‑base articles, SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in rotational shifts, weekend coverage, and on‑call support to ensure 24/7 operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 0‑2 years of experience in application support, technical support, or system administration.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog) and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and understanding of incident management, SLAs, and ITIL frameworks.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, effective communication, proactive attitude, and readiness for 24/7 shift coverage.
